Nuts are packed with fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Nuts are also high in unsaturated fat. They are excellent sources of protein and give you an enormous amount of energy. What is the advantage of making your own nut mix? You can completely adapt it to your taste. Besides the essential salt for this snack, you can add other ingredients to your heart’s content. As a lover of spicy food, I add a generous amount of cayenne pepper to my nuts. Experiment with additions such as thyme or rosemary (dried or fresh), turmeric, coriander powder or even a touch of sugar for a caramelized coating.

Another advantage is that you can select only your favorite nuts. If, at the end of your snacking session, only pecans are left, simply leave them out. Use the nuts you like: cashews, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts—the choice is yours. What are you waiting for? Fire up the oven and create your own personalized nut mix, mmm!

Fun fact: peanuts are actually not nuts, but legumes, and almonds are officially fruit. Nevertheless, peanuts and almonds are classified as nuts because of their properties.
