shrimp tapas

The Rotterdam Food Halls will open in mid-July, and the first five stands have finally been announced. From lobster sausage to sweet treats, you’ll soon be able to get it all in Roffa.

A total of fifteen food stands will open in the former Pakhuismeesteren, along with three different bars. A ‘regular’ bar full of craft beers, a bar serving wine and gin and tonics, and a coffee bar. All the stands announced so far are from Rotterdam and have highly accomplished people at the helm. In any case, we’re very curious.

Father and son Van Loo, known from Restaurant Parkheuvel** will serve you high-end street food. Think: lobster sausage on buttered rolls and a beef bonbon.

Bar Pulpo
The two former chefs at Herman den Blijker’s Las Palmas have been able to develop their talents, and are now opening seafood bar Bar Pulpo. Using a Josper Grill, Jelmer Bouma and Pegah Hosseinzadeh will prepare the most delicious lobster/crab/fish/shellfish for you.

Roffa Streetfood Bar
Roffa Streetfood Bar will focus on fish and, above all, plenty of meat. There will be a smoker for preparing the food. Think eight-hour-smoked pork belly or a Mexican corn on the cob. Everything you get here is perfect for sharing.

Txosta
Pintxos (small tapas-style bites) prepared by none other than Alvaro Martinez, the former chef of El Bulli***. Our expectations are very high indeed.

Ten to Three Bakery
Are you a real sweet tooth? Then go for the cupcakes from Ten to Three Bakery. If you still have room after all that food, you can get dessert here.

The Food Halls in Rotterdam will open in mid-July. You can find more information on the Food Halls’ website.
