The tastiest salted butter

paysan-breton

Good butter is a must in the FavorFlav editorial office. The impostors don’t make it into our fridges, because they’re never as delicious and pure as real butter. A favorite is Paysan Breton aux cristaux de sel de Guérande. Once you’ve tasted it, you won’t want anything else.

What makes this Breton butter so delicious? It’s the Guérande salt in it. The creamy butter and crunchy salt flakes are a golden combination. Of course, you can use the butter for all kinds of things, but it’s actually at its very best on a good piece of bread. Get a real baguette, spread a generous layer on it, take a bite and you’ll be hooked.

Now for the bad news: this divine spread is very difficult to get in the Netherlands. But hey, we Dutch people can’t stay away from France. The butter is sold in practically every marché there. So if someone you know is heading to la douce France, grab them by the lapels and tell them they’re not allowed to come back until they’ve bought a pack or three of this liquid gold.
