Best sommelier
The Michelin Award for best sommelier goes this year to Noël van Wittenbergh of restaurant Ciel Bleu (in the Okura Hotel) in Amsterdam.
1,000 reservations
Jannis and Claudia Brevet of InterScaldes explain what the third star they received last year did for their restaurant. It was quite something: within 10 hours of the ceremony, they had gained 1,000 reservations.
The first guide
Mona Keijzer, State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, has the honour of receiving the first copy of the new guide from Gwendal Poullenec, international director of the Michelin Guide.
First star

- Restaurant Rijnzicht in Doornenburg, chefs Mike & Jim Cornelissen
- Restaurant De Loohoeve in Schoonloo, chef Jeroen Brouwer
- Restaurant Bougainville in Amsterdam, chef Tim Golsteijn
- Restaurant Monarh in Tilburg, chef Paul Kappé

Second star
The restaurants receiving a second star this year are:
- Restaurant Sabero in Roermond, chef Nico Boreas
- Restaurant Pure C in Cadzand, chef Syrco Bakker
Three stars
Receiving them is one thing, but retaining your three stars is quite a challenge too. Fortunately, all three three-star restaurants in the Netherlands managed to retain their stars.
