Chef deceives vegan

There are plenty of chefs who get annoyed by vegans in their restaurant, but English chef Laura Goodman went a little too far. After a group of people came to eat at her restaurant, she posted a message on Facebook claiming to have added ‘something’ to a vegetarian order.

The reactions were not exactly positive – partly because the entire vegan community got the impression that Goodman had deliberately tampered with the order. Her actions even led to death threats. As became clear from the many responses, it wasn’t just veggies and vegans who were not amused by her post. The restaurant’s Facebook page was temporarily taken offline due to the large number of complaints.
Pizza mozzarella
Of course, it sounds as though Goodman served her vegetarian guest meat, but nothing could be further from the truth. It even seems that she did not fool her vegetarian guest at all. The guest had simply ordered a pizza with mozzarella. It was Goodman who thought she was dealing with a vegan who had ordered a pizza with mozzarella. In short: Who was fooling whom?
Ultimately, there was not that much going on, but it was not a clever move: the restaurant has since apologised and Laura Goodman was summarily dismissed.
