An Ode to Creamed Spinach

Expensive products or complicated preparation methods are surefire ways to impress everyone, but sometimes it’s a simple, humble product that you’re actually craving the most. Right? That’s why today we’re paying tribute to a product many people unfairly turn their noses up at: creamed spinach.

Frozen vegetables have a bad reputation in general, which is completely unnecessary. I don’t know where I’d be without the bag of peas in my freezer. The frozen vegetable that gets shamed the most, though, is creamed spinach. Why? It’s so delicious! That creamy, almost mushy spinach is exactly the side dish every meal needs, isn’t it?
You could make it yourself, to make it somewhat more culinarily responsible, but why would you? In any case, I hate preparing fresh spinach because you always have to wait for it to wilt. Creamed spinach already comes in convenient cubes, so you can always determine the perfect portion, and you can also throw everything into the pan at once. What a wonderful product!
Fish sticks
The ultimate combo? Creamed spinach with fish sticks and a boiled egg. When I eat that, I immediately feel like a child again. Perhaps the least culinary meal on earth, with two-thirds of it coming from the freezer. But if you convince yourself that you don’t like this, you’re really not quite right in the head. Enjoy!
