While there is regularly a war on the football pitch between 010 – ‘the city where the money is earned’ – and 020 – ‘the city where it is spent’ – the atmosphere in the kitchen is currently more than friendly. One that even leads to cross-border dinners. The 010/020 dinners. At the end of October, edition 2 is in 020.

According to the six participating restaurants, it promises to be a wild evening, bringing nature into the city. And that is something the chefs at BAK, Choux and Kaagman & Kortekaas (all three from 020) and Dertien, Restaurant de Jong and Marnix Benschop (from 010) can be trusted with. In their own establishments, wild foraged ingredients regularly end up on the plate.

The 010/020 dinner: Last time in Roffa, now in Mokum.

The 010/020 dinner consists of six courses featuring wild animals and plants, plus matching wines. While guests sat down in Roffa for the previous edition, now it is Mokum’s turn. More precisely, restaurant Choux. Chef Benny Blisto of restaurant BAK: “We’re going to show those Rotterdammers that we can make more beautiful things here than the Stopera.”

Tickets go on sale at exactly 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, for 100 euros. Check Facebook. Set your alarm, because once it’s full, it’s full—and the previous dinner sold out within half an hour. Just sayin’
