14 new food emojis

There are endlessly many delicious things that deserve their own emoji, and we still have a long way to go. But these fourteen newcomers are a step in the right direction.

A gyoza is in the works for your screen, as is a raw steak. If you want to persuade someone to bring you a sandwich, you can now simply send an emoji.

Asian food
The Asian cuisine in particular is receiving more appreciation in the emoji catalogue. In addition to the dumpling, Chinese chopsticks, a takeout box and a fortune cookie are being added to the collection.

There’s a broccoli for the fit girls, and for everyone who is anything but fit there’s a (yes, really) steaming pie.

The newcomers are expected to be ready to send to all your food-loving friends in June. The blueprints are already ready and are currently being fine-tuned.

For the next series of emojis, we have a few requests on our list:

• Being able to choose the color of your wine
• Jars of Nutella and peanut butter
• Sriracha sauce
• A platter of nachos with cheese
• Salt and pepper, because not seasoning something is not an option
• A smoothie with multiple color options
• A barbecue
• Multiple types of cheese
• Foie gras
• Blini with caviar
