5 tips for sitting on a terrace at 12:00 noon on 28 April

Just like our entire editorial team, you’re probably looking forward to THE DAY. The day the terraces open again. Maybe you’ve even already made a reservation at your favorite place and laid out your party dress. We understand that better than anyone. But because Wednesday is also simply a workday, here are 5 tactics for sitting on a terrace at precisely 12:00 noon.

I think it’s my greatest hobby: sitting on a terrace with good company. Number two is eating out, and number three is drinking wine. Those three are indeed suspiciously easy to combine. I have a rather generous love for the bon vivant lifestyle. So the cork came straight off the bottle when the relaxations were announced.

Tactics briefing

Now I just need to make sure I can be sitting on a terrace at exactly twelve o’clock on 28 April. A person has to work too, of course. Allow me to present our tactics for making this possible.

1. Get up nice and early (and I mean REALLY early)

An average workday lasts eight hours, not counting your coffee and lunch breaks. So the simplest way to be sitting on a terrace around noon is to start working at four o’clock in the morning. Yes, it’s ungodly, but it gets results.

2. Shift those hours around a bit

This one is handy if you also want to get some sleep: spread your hours throughout the day. Start working at eight, stop at noon, and continue again at six in the evening until ten. You do need to make sure you don’t get completely plastered, but otherwise I think this is a smart plan. Another option: start an hour earlier every day of the week, and you’ll easily make up for that half-day.

3. Be patient

I’m not particularly good at this myself, but of course you can always wait until Saturday. Be ready next to the table at one minute before twelve and don’t let them send you away before six o’clock. Maximum results, without having to worry about your alcohol consumption. Of course, you will miss out on the shared joy that will take place this coming Wednesday.

4. Terrace = office

Save up all your business appointments and schedule them hour by hour on 28 April between twelve and six. By now, you’ve proven that it doesn’t matter where you work, so a terrace works perfectly well as an office too.

5. Take the day off

It can be that simple. I can easily imagine that you have a day off left here and there, and 28 April just happens to be an excellent day to use it.
