7 great hotspots in The Hague

The fact that The Hague is the political capital of the Netherlands doesn’t mean that it’s only a place for dull activities. From museums to idyllic little shops and trendy cafés, The Hague has it all. We went there to discover the best spots in The Hague.

First up: Hug The Tea. The perfect place for matcha lovers to start the day. You can taste and try all kinds of things there. In the mood for a pastry with your coffee? Make a quick stop at Coffeelicious. The cakes here seem to be made as if they belong in fairy tales. They taste just as sweet as they look; so delicious. 

Next stop: Saplab. Winter is just around the corner, and the sniffles can start again. To help prevent this somewhat, you can get your ginger shot and green shakes here. After a visit to Saplab, you’ll have enough vitamins to keep you going for a while.

Sushi made with rice in beetroot juice, smoked fish-free mackerel, horseradish, capers and dill. It tastes just as good as it sounds. At De Vegetarische Slager, they make dishes with fish and meat products, but without fish and meat. Good for the environment and your own enjoyment, believe me.

Last but not least: café bistro Walter Benedict. This is the place to go for the ultimate drinks and snacks. Read: a platter with Camembert, goat’s cheese, San Daniele, mortadella and mini gherkins.
