Food festival season has arrived. Every month, FavorFlav lists everything that’s going on.

Yummya, Amsterdam

A food festival entirely dedicated to street food. And there’s a theme: ‘Garden of Eden’, bringing the story of Adam and Eve to life. The temptation of food takes center stage at Amsterdam’s Ice Rink. Admission is free, and if you order a ticket in advance, you’ll get ten percent off the tokens.

Jaap Eden Ice Rink, Thursday 5 through Sunday 8 May, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 to 23:00, Sunday until 21:00.

Amsterdam Kookt, Amsterdam

The ingredients of Amsterdam Kookt: exclusive food trucks, fantastic performances by well-known artists such as Kris Berry and Handsome Poets, combined with cooking workshops and demonstrations by top chefs and food enthusiasts. All this, of course, accompanied by a good glass of wine or a lovely cold beer. A must for everyone who enjoys the good life.

Olympic station: Thursday 5 through Sunday 8 May, every day from 13:00 to 23:00.

Van die dingen die gebeuren, Terneuzen

A fun, nonconformist food and drink party where everyone, young and old, is welcome. A party with plenty of entertainment.

Where and when?

Binnenvaartweg, Friday 6 and Saturday 7 May. Both days from 13:00 to 22:00.

Gezellige Zaken, Den Bosch

A food festival in the historic center of Den Bosch. Various stalls are spread throughout the city. Admission is free, and the dishes cost no more than six euros.

Where and when?

Historic center, Friday 6 through Sunday 8 May. Friday from 17:00 to 23:00, Saturday and Sunday from 15:00 to 23:00.

Foodfestival Foodstoet, Bergen op Zoom

Around 30 fantastic food trucks will roll into the Anton van Duinkerkenpark on 6 May. Together, these eye-catchers form a colorful procession of global flavors.

FoodieFest, Purmerend

FoodieFest is a free festival where dozens of passionate food truck owners serve delicious dishes from all over the world. They do so from mobile kitchens that transform Koemarkt into an atmospheric FoodTruck Festival.

Koemarkt, Thursday 5 through Sunday 8 May, daily from 13:00 to 21:00.

There’s plenty to do throughout the country during the Whitsun weekend

Het Weekend van de Rollende keukens, Amsterdam

This year marks the ninth edition of Rollende keukens. Eat while listening to one of the bands, or somewhere on a blanket in Westerpark. ‘From a gastronomic food truck to an eccentric pizza van, and from a curious barbecue camper to rolling kitchen princesses.’

Tuinfeestje, Utrecht

A party with music, food and entertainment in Utrecht’s Stadstuin. On 13 May 2016, De Stadstuin will be transformed into the Tuinfeest. With three different areas, there’s something for everyone in the garden.

Lepeltje Lepeltje, Amersfoort

In May, Lepeltje Lepeltje brings its traveling festival to Amersfoort. Celebrate the Whitsun weekend with lots and lots of food.

Villa’s Culinair Wijntheater, Velsen

Four days of beach, wine, vinyl music and food from master chefs. From Friday 13 through Monday 16 May, the second edition of Villa’s Culinair Wijntheater will take place at Villa Westend. Culinary bites, beautiful wines, oysters for 1 euro, DJs with vinyl, theater on the water and various children’s activities. Admission is free.

Freet Food Fest, Breda

This festival is holding its first edition at StadsGalerij Breda. Several caterers and chefs have been invited. The festival is for everyone who loves truly delicious food.

Gare du Nord Foodfestival, Rotterdam

During the three days of the Whitsun weekend, the garden by the train restaurant will be turned into a cozy festival site with cooking demonstrations, food trucks, a fair-trade market, film, live music, speakers and more. Everything is plant-based, but ‘not just for vegans’.

Maximaal Genieten Foodtruckfestival, Utrecht

One of Utrecht’s most beautiful parks will be transformed into a ‘foodies paradise’. Food will be provided by food trucks, mobile caterers and local entrepreneurs.
From classics and regional products to the most surprising dishes, and from savory finger food to sweet desserts.

Spullen en Smullen, Breda

On Sunday, the ‘Leef de Lente’ edition of Spullen & Smullen 2016 will take place. As always, in the beautiful Chassépark behind Breda’s Museum and Mezz. A market full of fair products. Fashion, jewelry, design, interiors and food are combined here. A number of food trucks will complete the event this year.

Food Soul festival, Noordwijk

The square surrounding the Lighthouse in Noordwijk aan Zee will be transformed into a large open-air restaurant. The event will be accompanied by wonderful soul music. The festival has fifteen food trucks, and the day is entirely dedicated to soul. Admission is free; tokens cost 1.25 euros each.

Frank en Vrij, Amsterdam

The Frank en Vrij food festival is 100% gluten-free, so it’s perfect for anyone who loves delicious food but can’t tolerate gluten. Buy a ticket in advance for 12.50 euros or at the door for 15 euros. The number of tickets is limited.

Food Truck Festival TREK

In partnership with 24Kitchen, TREK will transform nine Dutch parks into open-air restaurants this year. The program includes food, live music and theater. The festival also provides a stage for as-yet-unknown singing, music and theater talent. Admission is free; pets are not allowed.

Eten op rolletjes

This year, Eten op Rolletjes will be in eight cities, including Arnhem, Hilversum and Haarlem. Bring your own picnic blanket, or eat at one of the long wooden tables. Besides lots of food, there’s also entertainment, from carousels to theater performances. Admission is free.

Rrrollend

Rrrollend is a traveling food truck festival that will visit 19 cities this year. There are also all kinds of activities for young and old. Admission to this festival is free.
