Almost open: Arriba Arriba

The Mexican street food trend is one we’re absolutely thrilled about. Arriba Arriba is taking it on in style, and soon you’ll be eating your fill of tacos, empanadas and other Mexican bites. Obviously with a cocktail, or two, on the side.

Who: IQ creative (including Happyhappyjoyjoy, Envy and Wolf Atelier)
Where: on Amsterdam’s Rozengracht (city centre)
When: February 2018
What’s new?
Formerly home to Italian restaurant Mazzo, from 1 February the pizzas and pastas will make way for tacos and pitchers full of margaritas. Arriba Arriba will be a colourful place open seven days a week for your Mexican street food cravings. Shared dining and a menu full of cocktails to make you cheer arriba arriba! in no time.
On the menu?
The usual suspects when it comes to Mexican street cuisine. Tacos made with authentic tortillas, because they really are the most delicious. As they should be, the tortillas are made from corn. Perfectly fine if you’re allergic to gluten. Order one with crispy fish or ribeye with chimichurri and avocado. All dishes are designed for sharing. So be sure to order some tamales, empanadas, oysters or other bites as well.
‘Large cacti are used’
What stands out?
Just like in IQ creative’s other establishments, extra attention has been paid to the interior: modern Mexican with plenty of colour, and large cacti are used. For those who are only coming in for a cocktail or craft beer, high bar tables with a view of the kitchen are ready and waiting. It seats 150 people, so finding a spot at this new hotspot should always be possible.
