The White House Made of Gingerbread

Eleven months. That is how long Susan Morrison, the pastry chef at the White House, worked this year on a beautiful edible replica of one of the most famous buildings in the world. The construction consists of 113 kilos of gingerbread and 68 kilos of pure chocolate. An estimated 68,000 visitors to the White House will see the structure during the holiday season.

Honey Fraud

There has been widespread fraud involving honey in Europe. This is the latest in a series of food scandals in a short period of time. According to Foodnavigator, a site that reports on food and research, labels on honey jars have been falsified. What did the fraudsters do? They mixed honey with cheap sugar syrup and sold it as pure natural honey.
