At this pub, you can have the very first Christmas drinks of 2024
The leaves are still falling from the trees and pumpkins are lining the doorstep, but at Dutch Dukes – Rotterdam’s first English gastropub – the scent of pine and Christmas cookies is already in the air. On Tuesday, October 15, the gastropub on Witte de Withstraat will kick off the Christmas season with the very first Christmas drinks of 2024.
And yes, sorry to all the haters (hi, it’s me), but Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas’ will undoubtedly be on repeat. Still, I’m looking forward to Christmas drinks and all the accompanying merriment.
Celebrating Christmas in October
At Dutch Dukes, it has become a tradition to start the holiday season early, and this year, on Tuesday, October 15 – exactly 72 days before Christmas – they will once again kick off, for the third time, with the first Christmas drinks of the year. The Christmas baubles and fragrant pine branches have been brought out for an over-the-top Christmas extravaganza.
Ugly Christmas sweater
Because as Dutch Dukes owner Frank Rolaart says: “Why wait when we can already enjoy the coziest season of the year? Bring on those ugly Christmas sweaters!” The Christmas drinks start at 17:00. No reservation is required; everyone is welcome to drop in. Don’t forget your ugly Christmas sweater (and earplugs), will you?
