Beware: Albert Heijn warns about gourmet meal trays
Planning a gourmet night and bought your gourmet meal tray at Albert Heijn? Then read on, because Albert Heijn has issued a safety warning. You should also check your spice cabinet.
Albert Heijn has decided, as a precaution, to recall the AH gourmet meal tray and the AH ready-to-use gourmet package. But the how and why may surprise you.
Salmonella strikes again
The reason for recalling the products is related to Verstegen spices. The meat in the gourmet meal trays contains lemongrass from Verstegen. Verstegen previously found Salmonella in a batch of lemongrass.
The following products are involved:
- AH gourmet meal tray
- AH ready-to-use gourmet package (sold only on ah.nl)
For both products, the following best-before dates are concerned: 14-04-2022 and 16-04-2022.
Do not use these Verstegen products either
As a precaution, Verstegen has decided to withdraw a number of products containing the ingredient lemongrass from sale. In addition, Albert Heijn is recalling the Speklap à la minute tandoori because it contains lemongrass from Verstegen. The products concerned are:
Customers are urgently advised not to eat the products, but to return them to an Albert Heijn store. When you return the product, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.
