Buuf Louise is the loveliest and tastiest meal service you’ll want at home

Buuf Louise

I’m jealous of people who have a neighbor who loves cooking and occasionally rings the doorbell with her latest culinary creations to try. But hey, now I have a Buuf too! Her name is Buuf Louise, and she’d love to bring you her delicious food as well.

Buuf Louise cooks every Tuesday, and it’s always surprising and fresh, usually vegetarian, sometimes vegan. One day a week without grocery shopping or cooking, but with incredibly delicious and reasonably priced food—I don’t know how that sounds to you, but to me: a number-one hit parade entry.

Who is Buuf Louise?

Buuf Louise is Louise du Toit. Louise grew up in South Africa surrounded by a variety of flavors and influences from different cultures. From the age of 21, she traveled all over the world in search of surprising ingredients, recipes, and inspiration.

And now, with help from an array of chefs, she uses all that inspiration every week to make the most delicious dishes for the entire neighborhood. Buuf Louise is therefore the name of this new neighborhood initiative and meal service: every Tuesday Louise cooks, and you can order from her—yes, even if you don’t live near Louise du Toit! The meals are then delivered to a Buuf Louise pickup point near you. How fun is that?

Beautifully packaged

Every Tuesday, Buuf Louise provides a delicious main course that only needs a little time in the oven, and you can also choose a starter or side dish such as a salad or soup that just needs reheating. Everything is beautifully packaged in attractive, sturdy containers, together with a menu card listing your order. One week you might eat poached asparagus from Limburg with organic eggs and vegan hollandaise, and the next Lebanese köfte with sweet potato salad. There’s always a starring role for vegetables and fresh herbs.

Thai & Italian

And believe me when I say: this is truly restaurant quality! I’ve already enjoyed a Thai menu consisting of a Thai sweet potato bowl made with sweet potato curls, Thai vegetables, and fried tofu, served with an insanely delicious, fresh yellow peanut sauce. For starters: a Thom without Kha. The famous Thai Tom Kha Kai, but without chicken and with mushrooms and sugar snaps. Alongside it: a green papaya salad with noodles, ginger dressing, peanut, lime, and Thai basil.

The Italian Ravioli Primavera also looked as if it had come straight from an Italian restaurant. Beautiful mezzeluna ravioli filled with all the flavors of spring, such as ricotta, zucchini, lemon zest, and fresh Italian herbs. Yum!
