Cheers to Easter with this Baileys-filled Easter egg

baileys paasei

Is there anything even better than the Baileys Easter eggs I wrote about recently? Well, this comes pretty close. It just depends on whether you’re in the mood for lots of Baileys or a little less. In my case, it’s usually the former (I’m not exactly known for skipping a drink), so I’m definitely going to make this one this weekend.

Because this isn’t a ready-made Baileys-filled egg that you can buy somewhere—you do have to make it yourself. But no worries; it really doesn’t take much work. And putting in a little effort for an Easter cocktail isn’t a bad thing, right? Let’s goooo.

How to make your Baileys-filled Easter egg

There are only three steps, which obviously suits me just fine—the fewer, the better, because then you can get started sooner. Let’s quickly go through the steps.

Three steps to the most delicious Easter treat

Step 1: Heat the heavy cream and honey in a saucepan on the stove, and lower the heat once it comes to a boil. Then add the chocolate: stir everything together until smooth. Add the Baileys, turn off the heat and leave it to cool.

Step 2: Remove the top of your chocolate egg as follows: heat a knife (with boiling water, for example). Use the hot knife to make a few holes around the top of the egg, then carefully cut off the top. Yes: it’s a good idea to have a backup egg in case one goes wrong. Then place the egg on a low glass or something else that keeps it stable.

Step 3: Fill the egg with the mixture from the saucepan and pipe some whipped cream on top. If you really want to go all out, you can add some caramel syrup on top (always a good idea) and place a few small Easter eggs on it (for example, ones filled with Baileys).

AND THAT’S IT. Easy, right? I say: cheers!
