Chef Nick Bril opens new restaurant in Antwerp

It’s confirmed: Nick Bril, chef of two-Michelin-starred restaurant The Jane, is opening a new restaurant in Antwerp at the beginning of April.

Nick won’t have to travel far, as the restaurant will be located in a new hotel, 100 meters from The Jane. The new hotel is called August Antwerp and belongs to the same people as boutique hotel Julien.

Accessible

“Nick will create the menu, from breakfast to dinner,” a communications employee at Hotel Julien explains. “Expect a gastronomic menu that follows on from The Jane. It will probably be a little more accessible.” So, a kind of mini-Jane? “I can’t say that with 100 percent certainty yet, because the plans and development are still fully underway.”

Monastery

The setting of the new restaurant does have a lot in common with The Jane: the hotel will be located in a former Augustinian monastery. In addition to the restaurant, there will also be a bar, wellness facilities, a swimming pool, hidden gardens, a shop and 44 hotel rooms. We’re already booking our food trip to Antwerp!
