Eat lobster every Tuesday

pasta met kreeft 5&33

At 5&33 in Amsterdam, every Tuesday is Lobster Tuesday until the end of summer. What does that mean? For €25, you get a delicious pasta with lobster and a good glass of wine.

We usually plan our chic dinners for the weekend, but why, really? Okay, because elaborate dinners usually involve wine, and the next day we’re a little less productive as a result. Secretly, I’m simply in bed by 10:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. Fortunately, that’s no problem at all on Lobster Tuesday.

The restaurant is located in the art’otel amsterdam and mainly serves Italian dishes. The focaccia placed on the table as soon as we arrive tastes delicious, too. After five minutes, the Italian waiter has already told me that he only buys alcohol at the Dutch supermarket; his mother sends the rest over from Italy, or he grows it on his balcony. If the staff is this picky, the kitchen must be good too. Fortunately, it is.

The tagliolini (a kind of thin tagliatelle) is cooked perfectly and still has a lovely bite. It comes with a sauce made from fresh tomatoes and, of course, what we came for: half a lobster. The white wine pairs perfectly with the dish. If you’re truly a red wine drinker, that’s also an option as part of the deal, but as far as I’m concerned, white wine belongs with lobster. You can choose to have a quick bite, but the rest of the menu is also available. For example, if you still want dessert.

You can get your lobster fix at 5&33 every Tuesday throughout spring and summer. For more information and reservations, visit the restaurant’s website.
