Milkshakes

It could happen to you: one post on Buzzfeed, viral on Instagram, and the next day hordes of people at the door of your bar.

There are fifteen seats in the New York milkshake shop Black Tap. For several months now, a long queue has formed outside the door an hour before opening time. How? One post on Buzzfeed, and the glamorous milkshakes went viral. What do you do then? “It happens, and you either sink or you swim. Fortunately, we’re swimming right now”, owner Isidori says matter-of-factly.

First supermarket with an indoor farm

They call it INFARM, the very first farm/growing facility inside a supermarket. Different types of plants and vegetables will be grown in the store. The METRO supermarket in Berlin has the scoop. From now on, it will offer the freshest products 365 days a year. You can’t get more local than that.

Starbucks donates

From now on, all leftover Starbucks food will be donated. They are doing this in cooperation with the nonprofit organization Feeding America and the food collection organization Food Donation Connection. The 7,600 American Starbucks locations are taking part. At the end of the day, the food is collected and delivered to the locations within twenty-four hours.

An extra Raketje

It had to be a joke. A life without Raketjes is like a life without… food. Ola’s April Fools’ joke even led to changed Facebook profile pictures. For a brief moment, we felt the summer feeling slipping away from us.
