We all have them: favorite flavors, ingredients, and kitchen tools. FavorFlavs we keep reaching for time and again. These are ours.

Sportlife deepmint chewing gum

America has the reputation. And because they invented chewing gum, that fame is just as persistent as it is—in the meantime—undeserved. Because none of the Chicklets and Freedents can by far compare to our own Dutch gum. Nor can examples from other countries. And believe us, we’ve been trying in vain for years: buying tasty chewing gum in any foreign country. Bite, elasticity, flavor, and the longevity of that flavor cannot compare to what regularly remains stuck to the bottom of our shoes.

If we ever emigrate, Sportlife’s heavenly blue deepmint alone would be a reason to return here regularly. Or to have boxes full of the blister packs developed by the Dutch sent over.

And we chewed happily ever after.
