We all have them: favorite flavors, ingredients and kitchen tools. FavorFlavs we always reach for (again). These are ours.
The percolator
The Dutch used to take car trunks full of Dutch food products with them on holiday. Those days are long gone. But there are some tools we don’t want to be without while travelling either. One such indispensable item is the percolator (officially: moka pot). Alongside espresso, it’s the preferred coffee-making method of many a barista. Water in the bottom, ground coffee beans in the middle, a camping burner underneath. Thanks to the heat, the water steadily bubbles its way through the ground beans upwards, creating the perfect al fresco cup. In the mountains, by the sea, in the woods. And yes, at the campsite too.
