Favorites from The Hague’s Food Hall
The Hague’s first food hall has finally opened next to the station. We’ve already tasted our way through the food stands to find out which ones are a must-visit on your tour of the hall.
MingleMush, as it’s called, is packed with food stands that they have designed according to their own tastes. In doing so, they live up to their name, because each little eatery has its own look, creating a mishmash of stands serving food from different cuisines.
Pierogies
Although we have our doubts about the choice of a purple-and-orange stand, it serves one of the tastiest snacks in the hall. The Polish dough parcel resembles an Asian dumpling, but is filled with, for example, potato, cheese, onion and garlic, and comes with a yogurt sauce, bacon bits, spring onion and extra cheese. If you’re crazy about the famous Big Mac, they have a version that looks spot on like the famous burger. Vegetarian pierogies are also available.
Tajine Fabriek
The second stop you absolutely have to make is Tajine Fabriek. You can order several traditional Moroccan tajine dishes, from sweet chicken to meatballs with spinach sauce, or well-seasoned prawns.
Lime Leaf & Red Pepper
Thai cuisine shines at Lime Leaf & Red Pepper. The owner quit her steady office job to prepare the tastiest food for you at MingleMush. From Pad Thai to flavorful finger food, this is the place to be. If a dish is a little too spicy for you, you’re in the perfect spot: her stand is located between the cocktail and beer bars.
Het Pizzameisje
The stand is divided into three sections: antipasti, pizza and scoop ice cream. Next to the stand is a genuine Italian terrace with a photo mural of an Italian street and a black spiral staircase leading to more seating. The antipasti is delicious with drinks, and there is an extensive selection of pizzas, with plenty of vegetarian options.
Poké Bar
The poké bowl is hot in Amsterdam and Utrecht, but in The Hague it has yet to take off. This food stand, with its extensive selection of fresh bowls with tuna, salmon, chicken or tofu, is sure to make it more popular. Sushi fans in The Hague: eat your heart out.
Terrace
Although you collect your food at the food stands themselves, drinks are served at your table. Soon they’ll be doing that on the three large terraces that will surround the food hall as well.
