Fenix Food Factory Rotterdam

At Fenix Food Factory, small entrepreneurs sell their products in an old port warehouse in Katendrecht, Rotterdam.

A visit to the warehouse guarantees you’ll return home with a bag full of groceries. What’s more, it’s incredibly gezellig and you can eat and enjoy drinks there all day long.

Cheese
The cheese comes from Booij Kaasmakers, a local cheesemaker. The family farm is located in Streefkerk, a village not far from Rotterdam. Here you can buy the farmhouse cheeses they make on the farm. They also sell a selection of imported foreign cheeses.

Cider
As far as we’re concerned, cider is a very underrated product. Cider Cider wants to put cider (and poire, cider made from pears) on the map in the Netherlands. That sounds like an excellent idea to us. Drink cider! Eric Bordelet’s poire is my favourite.

Mr Tanger
Mr Tanger comes from Tangier and sells products produced by his family in Morocco. This is the place to go for olives, olive oil, nuts and Moroccan spices.

The warehouse itself is open from 10:00 – 23:00 from Tuesday through Saturday and from 12:00 – 23:00 on Sunday. Opening hours for the stands vary, so check the website before you go.

Closed on Mondays.
