FF tips for Taste of Amsterdam
Whether FavorFlav wanted to preview the food festival Taste of Amsterdam. But of course. These are our favorites that you absolutely must visit this coming weekend.
Hendrick’s Gin
Seriously. Go. Here. You have to go through a tiny little door and find yourself in a kind of Alice in Wonderland meets the roaring twenties setting. You drink cocktails from porcelain teacups while casually lounging on a Chesterfield. Then lie down on the bed for a virtual reality adventure.
Favorite: The Gin Basil Smash
’t Amsterdammertje
Go here if you’re in the mood for a bite at star level. Chef André Gerrits let us taste a dish with chicken roulade, mango and crab. It obviously looks beautiful and, most importantly, tastes incredibly good.

We previously spoke with chef Cassidy Hallman. His cooking style is uncomplicated and boy oh boy did we taste that. The meatball in tomato sauce with Parmesan was perfectly savory and succulent. We’d happily have a plateful. Or a panful.
BAUT
At chef Michiel van der Eerde’s place, you can eat hit dishes from the kitchens of BAUT and Restaurant C. Definitely don’t skip the steak tartare with bacon mayonnaise & egg yolk and the hoisin pork belly with curry cream and pak choi. We assume no further explanation is needed.
Ketel One
If you want to learn everything about the Bloody Mary—the cocktail favorite at brunch—don’t skip this cozy spot. Here you’ll learn how to make this classic and discover all kinds of variations, including carrot-apple juice and barbecue sauce. If you don’t feel like making one yourself, simply grab a glass to go.
The Harbour Club
With this warm weather, the alcohol flows even more freely, of course (at least it does for us), and that makes us even hungrier. So be sure to head over to The Harbour Club for some truly good sushi. Our favorite is the spicy tuna maki.
