Floating restaurant on the Seine

He already has more Michelin stars than any other chef in the world, but he still refuses to sit still. This week, Alain Ducasse is opening a restaurant on the Parisian Seine.

On the Seine? Yes, on the Seine. It is, in fact, a floating restaurant. That sounds very interesting, but of course we are simply talking about a boat. The boat has room for 200 people, and you can join it for lunch or dinner. While you eat, the restaurant takes you on a trip along the Seine, passing sights including the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. A wonderfully touristy attraction, then, but with the French star cuisine we have come to expect from Ducasse. The sightseeing boats in Amsterdam could certainly learn a thing or two from that.

Ducasse Sur Seine

This is not the first time one of Ducasse’s restaurants has occupied such an iconic location in Paris. He previously had a restaurant on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, but that restaurant closed earlier this year. Ducasse Sur Seine opens this week (10 September, to be precise).
