Free Tony’s Chocolonely in exchange for your Christmas tree

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely were your branches. But now there isn’t a single needle left, so it’s time to let you go. A pretty annoying chore, but in Amsterdam they have a tasty solution for it.

If you’ve stripped your Christmas tree of all its decorations and bring it to the recycling centre on Henk Sneevlietweg in Amsterdam Nieuw-West on Saturday 5 or Sunday 6 January, the municipality will give you a bar of Tony’s Chocolonely. Be quick, because when they’re gone, they’re gone.
Christmas tree beer
Don’t feel like hauling the thing all the way there? Or are you simply more of a beer fan than a chocolate fan? Lowlander Beer brewery is going to brew beer from old Christmas trees. Until 6 January, you can register your Christmas tree; it will then be collected by appointment. Once the brew is ready, you’ll receive a bottle of Christmas beer. Cheers!
