Since Samuel Levi and campaign agency Food Cabinet launched the #supportyourlocals initiative to support local producers in these difficult times, cool initiatives involving boxes and meal delivery have been springing up like mushrooms.

From the drinks box for ‘drinks snobs’, featuring products from Amsterdam shops and producers (an initiative by culinary journalist Hiske Versprille, who wants to support her favorite local spots) to, for example, the Bossche food box from @proeflokaallekker.

Chefs are also increasingly stepping in to help their local producers. Top chef and FavorFlav friend Syrco Bakker is also taking action and is now launching the LANT box. LANT stands for: Local – Craftsmanship – Natural – Traceable. These are precisely the principles this chef has been cooking with for years at his much-lauded restaurant Pure C **. Each week, the box offers a changing selection of products sourced directly from farmers, fishermen, vegetable growers and other local (Zeeland) producers.

Syrco: “It all starts with the best products from dedicated producers. Without them, we could never cook beautiful dishes. As chefs, we have a responsibility to give these professionals a platform so they can continue to exist.”

Ordering

The LANT box can be ordered every week via the website. Packages are delivered on Wednesdays and Thursdays. One box costs 45 euros (for 1 week). If you order for three weeks at once, the cost is 125 euros, and for five weeks it is 195 euros.
