Dolce&Gabbana refrigerator

The hundred hand-painted refrigerators from fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana are a tribute to Italy.

Dolce and Gabbana has something new: the art refrigerator. For no less than 33,000 dollars, you can have this gem in your kitchen. Why would you want that? The Smeg refrigerator is hand-painted by one of the local artists who created the designs for the Italian brand. Think traditional frames, battle scenes from Italian history and Sicilian marionette theatres. The exclusive edition of one hundred units will be presented at the end of the month in Milan.

Frietje Vrede for Warchild

From 5 May, you can buy a specially designed chip fork at the snack bar for an extra 20 cents. The proceeds from the ‘peace forks’ will go to Warchild. This allows customers of chip shops to make a contribution to the good cause in an accessible way. Cafeterias can decide for themselves whether to participate by registering online. For €150, they can buy a package containing promotional material.

Beer marmalade

The book Extreem Beleggen, for which we previously gave you a recipe, has just missed this. Scottish brewery Innis & Gunn has made marmalade from… beer. A mix of Indian Pale Ale and marmalade has become the jam Marm & Ale. We are curious whether the hoppy flavour also combines just as well with peanut butter and sambal.
