Happyhappyjoyjoy is coming to De Pijp

happyhappyjoyjoy

It’s just like bingo: which district haven’t we covered yet? In September, Happyhappyjoyjoy will also be ticking off Amsterdam Zuid/De Pijp. And we’re not complaining at all. Asian street food and lots of XO sauce, come at us.

Who:  IQ Creative, the collective behind, among others, Happyhappyjoyjoy West and East, Wolf Atelier, Envy and Arriba Arriba
Where: Ceintuurbaan 256
When: September 2018

What’s new?

The location, of course. Happyhappyjoyjoy already had locations in Amsterdam-West on Bilderdijkstraat and Amsterdam-East on Oostelijke Handelskade, but there wasn’t one in De Pijp yet. From September onwards, there will be. Ceintuurbaan is gaining a gem filled with bao buns and curries.

What’s on the menu?

Just like in the west and east, in De Pijp you can also feast on dim sum (steamed and fried), bao buns with soft-shell crab, curries and laab kai (spicy chicken salad from Thailand). Fun fact: the bao buns come in all the colors of the rainbow. Oh, and don’t forget to order a bowl or two of edamame beans, simply because you can. Happyhappyjoyjoy will be located directly opposite the metro station of the North-South line on Ceintuurbaan, so street food to go is their special feature.

What stands out?

Julius Jaspers’ Julius Bar&Grill has to make way for this Happyhappyjoyjoy location. A shame, but unfortunately, that’s how it goes. All good things must come to an end. And this will be good. By the way, rumors have it that, besides the standard ‘HHJJ’ decor, the interior will also get some secret extras… exciting.
