The tompouce puff pastry ball is essentially a cream puff in tompouce style: round, soft, creamy and a touch nostalgic. With a diameter of approximately 6 centimetres, it fits perfectly in your hand and is intended as a small treat with coffee or tea. But as with every return of a beloved product, criticism is lurking online.

Smoked sausage is too expensive too
Inge also takes the smoked sausage along in the wake of this: “They should first make sure that their flagship product, the Hema sausage, is like it used to be again: 3.79 for a limp, tasteless sausage. The delicious smoky flavour and the juice that runs out when slicing it are completely gone, while it keeps getting more expensive and worse.”
Why the HEMA tompouce puff pastry ball still deserves a chance
Despite the online criticism, there is also enthusiasm to be found. Because yes, HEMA + tompouce is a match made in heaven for many people. And such a tompouce puff pastry ball is ideal for anyone who wants a small sweet treat without immediately eating an entire tompouce.
And, to be fair: for lovers of tompouce and cream puffs, it is of course quite fun to try a new variation again.
