Gift from above
It turned out not to be Jesus’s intervention after all, but a defect in the pipeline between one of the wine silos belonging to the higher-altitude Setticani winemakers and the local water network. Because of the higher pressure, the red Lambrusco leaked into the system and cheerfully came spraying out of the village taps.
Godless intervention
Glasses underneath, buckets, pans (great with a snack featuring local balsamic vinegar) until the municipal plumbers put an end to the fun. The town council apologized for the incident, some holier-than-thou types complained (okay, perhaps rightly so) about safety, but the biggest complaint? That the ‘problem’ had been fixed far too quickly…
