Hit on TikTok: lasagna soup
You can genuinely wake me up in the middle of the night for soup, but it really does have to be soup. As far as I’m concerned, dishes that belong in a bowl but aren’t liquid don’t necessarily need to be transformed into a little soup. Take the trend I saw passing by on TikTok: lasagna soup. Uh… What?
TikToker Danny Loves Pasta shared this recipe at the request of artist SZA, and of course you can’t say ‘no’ to that. He had already made a TikTok with this ‘soup’ earlier, and apparently it became quite popular on the app. Why exactly — I’ll never know. But people are loving it; this recipe has already racked up more than ten million views.
How to make lasagna soup
According to Danny, the secret lies in the pasta sauce he uses. Ready-made, from the Rao’s Homemade brand. A brand I didn’t know, but Google tells me it can be ordered from the Netherlands. For a pretty steep price; 32 euros per jar if you want to have it shipped to the Netherlands. I think that’s a little too much of a good thing, so just make your own sauce instead — it’s probably even tastier.
Just look at the end result below; it actually looks seriously delicious. Personally, I don’t see any difference between pasta sauce with lasagna sheets and this ‘soup’, but oh well — anything for the views, and lasagna soup simply sounds a lot better. Bon appetit!
