Holiday Feeling in the City

Free evenings, bottles of wine, a large terrace and sultry weather (the latter with a bit of luck). In these places in the city, you are guaranteed to get a holiday feeling.

De Liefde – Amsterdam

De Liefde is located in Bilderdijkpark. De Liefde. Don’t cycle too fast, or you’ll have already passed this small wooden building surrounded by large, tall trees. So keep your eyes peeled. Once you arrive, you won’t want to leave. It’s remarkably peaceful for Amsterdam, you can enjoy a simple bite to eat and the terrace is perfect for drinking wine all evening.

La Vallade – Amsterdam

If you eat at La Vallade, you’ll imagine yourself in the south of France. The interior, the dishes—everything makes you think of La Douce France. Even when the sun isn’t shining, this oasis is guaranteed to give you a holiday feeling.

Strand Oog In Al – Utrecht

Parties are held here, you can sunbathe on a towel for hours and enjoy good food. Strand Oog in Al is the place in Utrecht to relax. Boats sail past while you sit on the terrace or on one of the large beanbags. The water provides the perfect summer vibe, as do the furniture and the restaurant in a rustic deluxe style.

Dak, Rotterdam

Rotterdam has many tall buildings and is making increasingly clever use of them. Rooftops are being transformed into large terraces where you can leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind for a while. Dak is one such place. There is a large barbecue where you can put your own meat on the grill every day from 17:00, and all kinds of sports and dance classes, parties and movie nights are organised. Definitely go there this summer.

A la plancha, Rotterdam

At A La Plancha, you literally sit on the water. So a refreshing breeze is guaranteed here. On the large terrace on the Maas, you can eat fresh grilled fish, oysters or the catch of the day. Most of the fish is simply caught in the Netherlands, or at least as close by as possible.
