How to always get extra crispy bacon at McDonald’s

McDonald’s is the place to go for your hangover food or midnight snack. A number of McDonald’s employees anonymously shared some tips on Quora about how to make sure you get the very best, which is especially nice when you’re stumbling in there with a fuzzy head.

I had already discovered that you should always ask for drinks without ice cubes at McDonald’s; that way, more fits in your cup. And with these tips, you can make sure your favorite items, such as McNuggets and the Big Mac, are ready for you as quickly and freshly as possible.

1. McDonald’s French fries are great, especially with a good dollop of fries sauce. Fresh fries are even better. When ordering, ask for fries without salt, because then you can be sure the fries are freshly made. Fries without salt aren’t tasty, but McDonald’s also has individual packets of salt, so you can sprinkle salt over your fries yourself later.

2. If you’re in the mood for ice cream, always get a McFlurry. Cones and sundae cups don’t contain nearly as much ice cream, and employees at Maccie almost always fill the McFlurry ‘too full’. Too full is exactly right, if you ask me.

3. Go through the McDrive instead of going into the restaurant. In general, you’ll be served faster this way because employees feel more time pressure, as there’s a limit to the number of cars that can wait in line. In Great Britain, McDrive employees are even timed to see whether they hand over orders on time.

4. Go to McDonald’s early or late. It’s a top spot for a midnight snack anyway, and at early and late hours you’re more likely to get freshly prepared food because less has been prepared than during the day.

5. Just ask! Apparently, employees in Great Britain are required to make the food fresh if a customer asks for it, and who knows, maybe that’s the case here too. Give it a try, I’d say. That way, you’ll always get fresh, crispy bacon at McDonald’s.

Even more reason to head to Maccie for your fast-food craving.
