How to make stale bread crispy again

Yesterday’s baguette is already dry and tough today. Throw it away? No need! In two simple steps, you can make that old, hard baguette soft, airy and crispy again and ready to eat.

1. Wet it
Hold the bread under the (cold or warm) tap and wet the crust thoroughly. Don’t be too careful. Has the bread already been sliced? Then try not to hold the inside of the bread under the tap. It’s not a problem if it gets a little wet.
2. Bake it
Ready? Place the wet bread in the centre of the preheated oven at around 200 degrees. Take it out again after six minutes (or seven minutes for a large loaf). And voilà: the warm bread has developed a crispy crust and is wonderfully soft on the inside. Handy: you can also give tough Kaiser rolls, pistolets and Italian rolls a second life this way.
