How to: steam an omelet

You can make an omelet in several different ways. With milk, cream or water, fried in oil or butter, and ultra fluffy or not. It’s up to you how you prefer to eat your beaten eggs in the morning. But also try this technique, in which you steam the omelet in a pan of water.

Silky smooth, wonderfully fluffy, and you only need three ingredients. Yes, folks, this steamed omelet is so easy that from now on you’ll make one for every housemate on Sunday morning.
How to make the steamed omelet
To make the steamed omelet, you need 3 eggs, salt and 200 milliliters of milk (for 2 people). Separate the yolks from the whites and beat the whites until fluffy with a mixer. Then add the yolks, milk and salt and mix until combined. Divide the mixture between two ziplock freezer bags. Remove as much air as possible from the bags. Seal them and place them in a pan of (gently!) boiling water for 7 to 10 minutes.
Tip: you can also add a variety of other ingredients to the bag with the omelet, such as spring onion, sliced mushrooms, chives or some grated cheese.
