Halloween is just around the corner, which means American entrepreneurs are doing everything they can to make people shudder and cringe. Well, we can say this much: Salt & Straw has succeeded.

The American ice cream chain has launched two types of Halloween ice cream: ‘Dracula’s Blood Pudding’ and ‘Creepy Crawly Critters’.

The latter is matcha ice cream with chocolate-covered crunchy crickets and coconut-toffee-flavored mealworms, but it’s mainly the former that is making many people tremble.

‘ Dr acula’s Blood Pudding’ consists of a mix of cinnamon, coriander, pepper, brandy and, yes, real pig’s blood. Everything is cooked with cream into a blood pudding (oh, and while we’re at it, there’s also some chicken liver in it), after which it all goes to the ice cream factory.

On Instagram, reactions range from ‘Nope. Just nope.’ and ‘disgusting’ to ‘Looks AMAZING’ and ‘Love this flavor’. According to one person, it tastes like Mexican hot chocolate: ‘You don’t really taste blood, but it adds an interesting richness.’

Would you want to try it?
