IKEA scraps the one-euro breakfast

What a shame. After HEMA, furniture giant IKEA is also saying goodbye to its famous one-euro breakfast. Where are you supposed to go now for your cheap breakfast fix?

Every weekend, IKEA stores fill up with eager customers wanting to enjoy their inexpensive breakfasts. A godsend for students or large families on a tight budget. Fortunately, there are still plenty of other places where you can get an affordable start to the day.
HEMA
Although HEMA previously said goodbye to its one-euro breakfast, you can still enjoy breakfast at HEMA from €2. For this amount, you put together your own breakfast with five items such as fresh juice, a baguette and various toppings. An omelet costs extra.
McDonald’s
Looking for the perfect breakfast on a rough morning? McDonald’s breakfast menu consists of a McMuffin, a croissant, a hot drink and fresh juice. All this for €2.95, and your stomach is immediately filled with a deliciously greasy bite.
Bakker Bart
Not very original, but still tasty. Bakker Bart also offers a croissant, orange juice, a hot drink and a freshly topped sandwich for breakfast. You can get this breakfast for €3.75.
IKEA
No need to despair, true IKEA breakfast fans—the breakfast is still affordable. A similar breakfast now costs €3.45, unless you are an IKEA Family member. In that case, you can get the breakfast for €1.20. So you can still visit the blue-and-yellow home-furnishing store for a good start to the day.
