Important food safety warning for Albert Heijn cheese croquettes

Homemade cheese croquettes—oh man, I absolutely love them! But when I don’t have the time or feel like making them myself (although these Rijsel cheese croquettes really are amazing), I sometimes buy them at Albert Heijn too (especially when Snackspert says that the AH oven cheese croquettes are top-notch). But now Albert Heijn has issued an important safety warning about its cheese croquettes…

Albert Heijn has decided to immediately withdraw the AH Excellent cheese croquettes from stores because shrimp croquettes were accidentally packaged inside. Not good news for people with a shellfish allergy.

AH Excellent cheese croquettes

This concerns AH Excellent cheese croquettes with best-before dates of April 12 and 17, 2023. Because the wrong label was used, the following allergens are not listed: shrimp, lobster, fish and celery.

So far, only two Albert Heijn stores have sold this product: Albert Heijn, Maagdenbergplein 15 in Venlo
and Albert Heijn, Cassandraplein 8 in Eindhoven.

Return them to Albert Heijn

But hey, better safe than sorry, so check the cheese croquettes you have at home. If you happen to have this product, you can return it to an Albert Heijn store. The purchase price will be refunded upon return. For more information, contact Albert Heijn Customer Service: www.ah.nl/klantenservice.

And are you actually a big fan of shrimp croquettes? Then we have a golden tip for you: the Shrimp Croquette Festival in Ostend!
