Indo pop-up: Toko Dimas

At the beginning of March, Toko Dimas opened its figurative doors inside the already established Bar Basquiat in Amsterdam Oost. They serve classic, familiar Indonesian dishes, as well as next-level Indo food with a twist.

Toko Dimas is the new pop-up kitchen at Bar Basquiat. It is a collaboration between Bar Basquiat and chef Dimas Sastrohardjo, who had dreamed for years of running his own kitchen. At Toko Dimas, everything revolves around Indonesian cuisine.
What do you eat at Toko Dimas?
“We serve classic Indonesian dishes such as satay ayam and nasi rames, because: never change a winning team. I’ve given some dishes an innovative twist. Such as a taco filled with rendang or an Indonesian kapsalon with emping,” says Dimas. With these familiar flavors, the food here is guaranteed comfort food.
Bar Basquiat’s pop-up restaurants usually stay for a year before the next one arrives. Toko Dimas has only just opened, so you still have plenty of time to sample the classic and new Indonesian dishes—especially often. You’ll find Toko Dimas inside Bar Basquiat on Javastraat in Amsterdam Oost.
