Job vacancy: FavorFlav is looking for an editor-in-chief!

Online food magazine FavorFlav.com is the site where food lovers get their daily culinary fix: from sophisticated Michelin-starred dishes to the ultimate roti at the Surinamese snack bar around the corner. We take food seriously, but we’re not food snobs or food fundamentalists. To fill a vacancy, we are looking for a full-time editor-in-chief to start immediately.

As editor-in-chief, you will have final responsibility for all editorial content: from the articles to all content on our social media channels and the editorial content of the annual FavorFlav Food Top 100 and other exciting events in the pipeline. You will represent FavorFlav both online and in real life at important events and openings (at home and abroad).

You know how to protect and further grow the FavorFlav brand. You also enjoy writing articles yourself on a regular basis and assigning ideas to our editors. In addition, we are on the eve of launching a new food title, for which you will also be responsible.

Straight forward

First and foremost, it is important that you love food. You are aware of what is happening in the culinary scene (at home and abroad) and love cooking. You identify with our tone of voice: not fussy, but straight forward and to the point. You have no time for clickbait, but you do know how to reach as many people as possible with engaging, substantive content.

You also have the necessary knowledge of Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics and SEO, and know how to turn data into concrete actions to optimize the website. In close collaboration with the sales department, you will also develop creative proposals for (potential) clients.

Good to know: FavorFlav does not offer a corporate environment with different departments, but is part of a creative media company that produces various television programs (including Jinek and De Nieuwe Lekkerbek) and online magazines (including FavorFlav.com, Franska.nl and Amayzine.com).

Requirements

• Demonstrable affinity with food
• Relevant education and/or demonstrable work experience in a similar position
• In possession of a Category B driver’s license
• Creative and possessing a growth mindset
• Organized and structured
• Excellent command of the Dutch language (especially written)
