Louise Petit Restaurant

Louise Petit

Loesje Tieleman will not be the first Tieleman to open a hospitality venue in Rotterdam. The Euromast, Hotel New York and seven restaurants, including Jamie’s Italian, are also owned by the family. And now it is Loesje’s turn, with Louise Petit Restaurant. Did we already mention that she is only 21?

Who: Loesje Tieleman, from Rotterdam’s hospitality family.
Where: the Veerhaven in Rotterdam
When: 1 September

What’s new?

This is Loesje’s first establishment. She comes from a large hospitality family. French and cosy. A real petit restaurant, in other words. It is not a surprising choice for Loesje, as she has been travelling to Paris and the south of France at least four times a year all her life and wants to bring that French feeling to her restaurant. As if you were dining in her French living room. The whole concept will therefore be very different from the urban kitchen of Z&M, the previous restaurant at this location.

What’s on the menu?

Typical French dishes such as tartare saumon (salmon tartare), escargots (snails), foie gras, côte du boeuf, sole à la meunière (Dover sole), boudin noir (black pudding), tarte tatin and crème brulée. During lunch or dinner, you can put together several courses yourself, or choose the daily changing menu. It doesn’t matter what you do, because everything is delicious.

Anything noteworthy?

The chef at Louise Petit Restaurant is Kelvin de Pijper, the former sous-chef at Michelin-starred restaurant Fitzgerald. That is further confirmation that you really should visit Louise for an evening of excellent French food.
