McDonald’s launches vegetarian Happy Meal

Everyone is still busy working on their New Year’s resolutions, but McDonald’s in England is cleverly tapping into that. They’re introducing a vegetarian Happy Meal. Still not healthy, of course, but at least vegetarian. Happy new year!

Previously, you could choose from, among other things, chicken nuggets, chicken wraps or a deliciously greasy hamburger. All tasty, but there wasn’t much choice for vegetarian children (or adult Happy Meal lovers). That has now changed in England, where you can also opt for the vegetarian wrap.

The vegetarian wrap is filled with peas, tomato, breadcrumbs and sun-dried tomatoes. All of this is transformed into a kind of stick, which is then fried until crispy. So you don’t choose it for the calories, but if you want to do your bit for the environment by eating less meat, you know what to do. Off to the British McDonald’s! Unfortunately, the vegetarian kids’ meal is not yet available in the Netherlands, but who knows what the future may bring.
