According to De Hippe Vegetariër, we should eat more vegetarian food. Do you agree, but do you think it’s rather drastic to cut meat from your diet entirely? If you take part in National Meat-Free Week, you’ll eat vegetarian food for a week. After that, you can always decide whether you like it. The first edition takes place from 5 to 11 March.

De Hippe Vegetariër, known for her blogs and book about vegetarian food, is organising National Meat-Free Week because she believes many people think vegetarian food is boring and tasteless. She shows that this is not the case at all and tries to convince people to eat less meat. If you sign up for free, you’ll receive a digital magazine with 88 pages full of recipes, tips and information about vegetarian food. By the end of National Meat-Free Week, you’ll be more familiar with vegetarian and plant-based cuisine.

The Vegetarian Restaurant Week

Even if you’re hopeless in the kitchen, you can take part. As part of National Meat-Free Week, Vegetarian Restaurant Week is also taking place. Restaurants throughout the Netherlands are participating and showing how delicious food without meat can be. From Wolf Atelier in Amsterdam to Herberg Het Volle Leven in Appelscha, and from a simple lunch to a five-course dinner. View all participating restaurants here.
