New: reserving a restaurant via Instagram

Have you ever discovered a new restaurant through Instagram? One where you’d love to reserve a table right away after scrolling through their endless feed of perfect food photos? Instagram is making it easy: it’s launching a reserve button soon. All you’ll have to do is click.

To develop the button, Instagram is working with a number of online reservation platforms, including, for example, OpenTable. In the Netherlands, this is still fairly new—it was only launched here last year and is currently available only in Amsterdam. It is growing there, though: around four hundred restaurants are already affiliated. And at all those restaurants, you’ll soon be able to make a reservation via Instagram.
How are you supposed to eat ramen? Like this, of course.
Abroad, the new button promises to become considerably ‘bigger’. There are many more restaurants affiliated with such platforms there. So if you’re going on a city trip soon and want to reserve a last-minute table at that one lovely restaurant, be sure to look it up on Instagram anyway. You never know.
Extra features
Also handy: you’ll immediately see when there are no more tables available at the restaurant where you want to make a reservation. In that case, you can simply have the food delivered to your home instead—the button also has an ordering function built in.
