Official Anthony Bourdain food tour

Do you always put on an episode of No Reservations or Parts Unknown when you go on vacation? Naturally. If anyone could tell us where to eat in a city, it was Anthony Bourdain. Especially in his home town of New Jersey, where you will soon be able to book an official tour.

Not long after Bourdain’s death last year, New Jersey representative Paul Moriarty came up with the idea of setting up an official Anthony Bourdain Food Trail. Bourdain grew up in Leonia, a neighborhood in New Jersey, and this is Paul’s way of honoring him. In the fifth season of Parts Unkown, an entire episode is devoted to New Jersey, and this tour takes you past all ten restaurants featured in the episode.

From deli to oysters

That means a tour of ten restaurants, from Frank’s Deli to Dock’s Oyster House. At every stop, you get something to eat and can spend a moment at one of our beloved Tony’s favorite places. That’s worth something too, right?

The application to launch the tour was submitted as early as June 2018, but has only just been approved. It is not yet known when the tour will officially be available to book, but you might as well put New Jersey on your list of culinary destinations.
