Old-school garlic bread

knoflookbrood

Bread, garlic and butter are definitely three of our favorite food groups. Put them all together, pop them in the oven and you have the perfect old-school snack to serve with drinks.

With this recipe, you can make delicious, basic garlic bread. If you want to go all out, add some pieces of cheese between the slices and maybe a slice of bacon. Prosciutto and sage are also a great combination.

How to make garlic bread

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Use a baguette or a beautiful French country loaf. Cut into the bread, but don’t cut all the way through. Depending on the type of bread you have, cut it into slices (baguette) or cubes (a wider loaf).

Mix the remaining ingredients into a compound butter. Spread the butter between the cuts in the bread; the back of a teaspoon works best for this. If you’re using any extra ingredients, this is also the moment to tuck them between the slices. Wrap the bread completely in aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove it from the foil and bake for another 10 minutes (this prevents the bread from burning).
