Fancy going out for a tropical meal in these cold temperatures but have little money to spend? It’s been there for years, but here’s a little reminder: Bazar on the Albert Cuypstraat in Amsterdam. For around €15, you can head home with a more than satisfied stomach. The kitchen serves dishes from North Africa and the Middle East, but the portions on your plate are American-sized.

Something for everyone
There’s plenty of delicious food on the menu, from grilled fish and meat to stews and roasted vegetables. And with specialities from various cuisines, from Morocco to Turkey. All meat dishes are halal, and there are plenty of vegetarian options on the menu too. In addition to dinner, they also prepare typical breakfast and lunch dishes from the different cuisines. With the Extra Bazar breakfast, you can taste everything for €9.50!

Little Morocco
The beautiful large lamps, music and decorated plates make you feel as though you’re in Morocco for a moment. A couscous dish with grilled beef kebab and an aubergine stew on the side will cost you much less than a ticket to Marrakech. What am I saying? Even less than a train ticket from Amsterdam to Zeeland.
