On a budget: Roopram roti

No energy left to cook? We get it! But delicious food is a must—never settle for less. That’s why we’re sharing our tips for truly delicious takeaways, the best delivery services and affordable places.

Where to eat the best roti in the city remains a matter of debate. But the name Roopram Roti always comes up in those discussions.
No frozen roti
Mr Roopram wanted to bring frozen roti to the Netherlands, but this was stopped by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority. So there was only one thing left to do: open a roti restaurant in Rotterdam (Mathenesserplein 89 at Rotterdam). We’re more than happy about the ban on frozen roti.
Empire
Since 2004, in addition to the location in 010, restaurants have also opened in Amsterdam (Eerste van Swindenstraat and Van Woustraat 37) and The Hague (Palletplein 89). You can safely call it a roti empire, because there are also six restaurants in Suriname.

The menu
You can eat all kinds of roti there (the editorial team’s favorites: the roti roll with chicken and the lamb roti), bara, nasi and bami. The portions are generous, so you’ll always have some left over for lunch the next day.
